HND HAPPY MAIL - FLIP BOOK - PROCESS VIDEO

So today I am doing something a little different. It is not scrapbooking at all, but in a way it is.... Happy Mail has become a bit of a thing and so I have created a cute little group over on Facebook called HND HAPPY MAIL. Basically it is a group of lovely ladies that create pretty letters, pocket letters, flip books or even just a cute little card and send a little dose of happy to each other all around the world. There are no dead lines, no commitments, no minimum postage or anything. It is basically if you want to share some happy mail and make some new friends, this is the place to be. If you would like to join, please feel free to click the link above. We currently have around 90 beautiful ladies from all around the world sharing their crafty happiness. We would love to have you join too!!

I have really gotten into the flip book craze lately and today I decided that I would show you just how I have created my flip books. They are super easy and all you really need are your basic scrapbooking supplies, some Project Life cards (or just cut pieces of paper) and some envelopes. As always, I cant leave things simple and I have to super deck things out in the most blingged up way possible. When watching the video, remember it is very easy to customise the flip books to however you like, the basic process is just sticking the envelopes together.

Once you have stuck the envelopes together and have your flip book base sorted it is time to decorate. The envelopes I have fit a 6x6 piece of paper perfectly and has made it wonderfully convenient to use a few of my 6x6 paper pads that I NEVER use!! Some people just stick the paper on and leave the pockets full, but I like to cut into the paper to the shape of the envelope and making the pocket a littler bit larger. I love putting in letters and goodies in the pockets and making them just as beautiful as the embellishments on the pockets.

Here is the close up of the main pocket when you first open the book. In this pocket I have a few larger embellishments as well as a card and I will write a letter in there as well. I love how all the colours just work together so beautifully. I am not usually a fan of pink and red together... Who am I kidding I NEVER use red, but the Studio Calico - Seven Papers - Amelia Collection is just stunning with their photo realistic patterns, bright pinks and geometric designs.

Here is another look at one of the beautiful pockets. This one I used a mini white doily from Doodlebug and a cute Crate Paper - Hello Love rosette. It actually said "Happy Valentines Day" but I just took a cute Crate Paper word sticker and popped it straight on top of the banner and looks absolutely perfect!! It is the perfect embellishment to cover the rough edges of this piece of paper I cut. It was the first one I cut to cover and totally got the sizing wrong!!

I created this cute pocket but joining two Project Life cards on three edges with just some thin double sided tape. I then embellished the sides and adhered them to one of the flips in the book with some pretty pink washi tape. It just adds another dimension to your flip books. You want to take your HND Happy Mail recipient on a journey and creating these cute little pockets and extra flips with embellishment clusters is just the perfect way.

Inside the pocket I made this cute shaker pocket. It just slips inside and adds a little extra bling. Like I said you want to take your reader on a journey and have them constantly exploring all the little flips and pockets in your book. I don't have a We R Memory Keepers - Fuse Tool, so I just adhere my patterned acetate with some clear gift wrapping tape. It is perfect and you can hardly see it, especially when you add all the other cute embellishments.

I just love how this little shaker slips straight into its pocket and the little bow just rests on the edge... It is such a cute little embellishment and probably my favourite aspect of this entire album.

Here is another of my multi flip pages. This is what you would find underneath the shaker pocket, pocket. I have a little 3x4 card which is also a flip with a little information underneath it and a huge embellishment cluster with some inspirational quotes and feel good messages. I don't get a chance to just do big random ephemera dumps on my layouts so its nice to just pick up a heap of embellishments that I don't usually use and put them on a pretty flip book.

In my flip book I also really enjoyed making cute little see through elements with vellum. This one is a white herringbone patterned pocket and holds a host of different embellishments an tags, all coordinating with the theme of course. I decorated the outside as well with cute little phrases and words to get my recipient excited about the happy mail.

Thanks so much guys,
Love you all,
