JOT MOOD BOARD - JULY 2016

Hey guys, I'm back today with another layout but,

hold the washi tape,

ITS A 12X12 LAYOUT!!!

I know, I know, I have said in a few videos in the past that I would never go back to 12x12 layouts, but this week I have created THREE!! I have just found the entire process completely freeing creatively and I cant wait to create more 12x12 layouts!!

So what does that mean for Project Life and 8.5x11? They will still be included as well, don't worry, but I really want to get back into 12x12 now!

So enough excited rambling. I want to show you what I have been up to!

The Jot Magazine Mood Board for July 2016 is a stunningly bright and bold combinations of warm yellows and rustic woodgrains... refreshing whites and pineapples? I know, I get it, pineapples are a thing and don't get me wrong they are cute... but I can just never seem to use them in my creating.

So this is what I created from the mood board. It is a bit boring, but it also has a lot going on. I wanted to emulate the wood paneling and overlap as many pieces of yellow, woodgrain, kraft and white pieces of paper I could find to work in an ombre motion.

The photo is just one of those bleh, work selfies you take just before you get out of the car to walk into work. I have a huge habit of doing these and posting them on Instagram. I can be quite a selfie queen when it comes to Instagram but I never seem to put any of them onto layouts.

What you may or may not be able to see in this layout is that I have used a few white on white combinations. The first one being this super cute tiny white polka dot tulle. I love using tulle in my layouts and previous I have used a large polka dot tulle. Spotlight didn't have any of the large in stock so I went for the tiny dot and I am so glad I did. I love how it looks sandwiched between my photo and the embellishment cluster here.

I have always looked at the yellow flowers in the Maggie Holmes Open Book Flower Ephemera and thought "why?", "who actually uses that much yellow?" They are always the last ones in my four sets of flowers to be used but on this layout, they were the first to be pulled out and I just love the warm cluster of flowers right in the middle of the page.

Thanks so much for stopping by guys,
Love you all,
